Nathan Haslam, LCMHC

My name is Nathan Haslam. During my eduction, and for a number of years after, I worked in various residential treatment centers. This included adults with chronic conditions; adolescents with behavioral, substance, and spectrum disorders; in addition to adolescents with fetal alcohol syndrome.

Following Undergraduate studies while working at the facilities above I received a Master in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I completed an Internship and was employed by that same agency as a Primary Therapist for individuals in Residential Substance Abuse treatment. I worked with young adults as well as adults in professionals positions, such as, working closely with flight attendant and railroad Employee Assistance Programs. I worked with close family relationships as well as those on their own with few resources. I was asked daily to justify the treatment as evidence based for clients and to justify the care they were receiving. I feel confident in using ethical, evidence based treatment with my clients. I also engaged in family therapy and group work while serving individuals in treatment.

I have worked primarily with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Closely aligned with this I am trained in the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mind Body Bridging an am also Level 1 certified in Gottman Therapy for couples. I am actively working on becoming a Certified First Responder Counselor.

I am confident in working with various ages and can assist in general stress, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and trauma.

In addition to working in counseling I am also a Certified Flight Instructor and enjoy teaching others one of my favorite hobbies.
